Let's go to the Zoo!

Summer is here and so is all the activities to stay busy with your family. Here are some of our favorite Zoo’s to visit each year. Don't forget to visit your local Library for passes to save with each visit! The passes offer reduced or free cost admission and vary with each library. Be sure to visit each Zoo website before visiting to read about what shows, activities or changes are happening.

Family Zoo Check List:

  • Everyones Water
  • Sunblock and or hats 
  • Snacks
  • Kid Camera: Ellie loves taking pictures of her favorite animals! 
  • Bathing suit/towels/water shoes (if they have a splash pad)


Buttonwood Park Zoo

Address: 425 Hawthorn Street New Bedford, MA

Open Daily: 9AM-4PM

Wildlife Carousel

The Black Bear Express train ride

Charlie’s Nature Play Area: Temporarily Closed for improvements

Bear’s Den Cafe: Open Daily 11AM-3PM - Lunch & Snacks - Indoor & Outdoor seating

Toe Jam Puppet Band plays every Monday at 10AM & 11:30AM- $10/family



Capron Park Zoo

Address: 201 County Street Attleboro, MA 

Open Daily: 9AM-4PM

Franklin Park Zoo

Open: Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM Saturday & Sunday 9AM-6PM

Food: The Deli, The Creamery, The Zebra Cafe, The Snack Factory, The Dog House, & Galliford’s Resturant & Tavern

Skyfari Sky Ride: $7/person child must be 42 inches tall

Woodland Express Train: $7/person, children 2 years and under Free

Soaring Eagle Zipline: $12/ride child must be 42 inches tall, between 42”-47” or under 12 years old must ride with an adult

Animal rides: Pony-$7/person weight limit 50lbs, Camel-$8/person eight limit 200lbs per rider

Deer Forest: Feed the Deer, purchase food at the feeding stations

Petting Zoo: Pet and feed goats

Rainforest Adventure Maze: $5/person (zipline & maze combo: $15/person)

Roger Williams Park Zoo

Address: 1000 Elmwood Ave, Providence, RI

Open Daily: 9AM-4PM

Farmyard exhibit

Dragons & Mythical Creatures- add-on experience April-August 11th

                February & March: Open weekends 12 – 4pm

                April, May & June: Open daily.  Weekdays, open 12 – 6pm & weekends, 11am – 6pm.

                July – Labor Day: Open daily 11am – 6pm

                Post-Labor Day – October 31: Open daily 12 – 4pm

                November & December: Open weekends 12 – 4pm
