How to Survive Traveling with Toddlers

Road Trip Essentials

By Macaroni KID Bridgewater - Danielle Romano August 8, 2023

Planning those last minute trips with the family!

Vacations tend to be just parenting in a different location depending on your kids age and can be stressful. That is why we always try to start the trip off on a good note and have our “Travel Basket” ready to take on the day! The basket can be any size you want or even individual backpacks for your kids. With my little ones being 4 and 2 years old, I prefer an open basket to make it easier for everyone to find what they need. Either way the main focus is to have the perfect items stored in the basket to meet your families needs while on the move. It also helps to have a few of each child’s favorite items to help be prepared for any behavior (good or bad) they decide to toss at you.

What we keep in our Travel Basket:

Don’t forget to have at easy reach:

  • Everyones water
  • Snacks
  • All chargers
  • Sunglasses
  • Baby Wipes (no matter how old your kids are, they can help solve a messy mistake)
  • Hidden sweet treat (good behavior or when everyones getting antsy)
  • A bag to collect the trash (less mess for the arrival)

Safe Travels!

P.S. Are we there yet?! :)
