West Bridgewater Rail Trail - North Main Street West Bridgewater, Ma

Difficulty: Easy * Stroller Friendly: Yes * Restrooms: No * Parking: small dirt lot

This 1.8 mile trail goes out and back from a parking lot off of N. Main street in West Bridgewater. The lot is located next to St. Ann's Church and across the street from Turner Steel Co., Inc. The trail is a mainly flat dirt road and offers many chances to see wildlife. It is an out and back trail and does not loop so if you have little legs with you remember you need to double back to get to the car. There are no public restrooms or other facilities and leased dogs are allowed on the trail. Would be suitable for a rugged jogging stroller or a bike.  If you check this trail out Macaroni Kid Bridgewater-Brockton would love to find out what you thought. War Memorial Park - 196 River Street West Bridgewater, MA

Difficulty: Easy * Stroller Friendly: Not all trails * Restrooms: No * Parking: small lot

Established in the 1930s this park is the site of the earliest industrial activities dating back to the 17th century and is one of the most historic sites in West Bridgewater. During the Industrial Era there were up to 13 different water powered mills located at this site. There is a large parking lot and trails that wind through the park. While there are good areas for a stroller or bike most areas are not accessible unless on foot. The trails are easy and many of them are short with enough interest to little ones busy and excited. Fair warning there is a lot of water on this site and you might need to keep a close eye on younger kids. Beaverton Woods Conservation - 196 River Street West Bridgewater, MA

Difficulty: TBD * Stroller Friendly: No * Restrooms: No * Parking: across 106 at the senior center

Beaverton Woods was donated by the Richards Family in 2006. There are about 2 miles of trails across the street from the West Bridgewater Council on aging senior center. You can find a map of the Beaverton Woods from the West Bridgewater Open Space and Recreation Department HERE. There is no dedicated parking area of this site but there is public parking located across the street at the Senior Center and Howard Elementary School. Note: West Center Street is route 106 and can be very busy, take care when crossing the street. My family has not tried out this trail yet. We have plans to visit the trial soon and will update this listing to include information about they type of trail and how accessible it is. West Bridgewater State Forest/West Meadows Pond - West Bridgewater, MA

I never knew that West Bridgewater had a State Forest, did you? As I researched these properties I found very little from both DCR and the town of West Bridgewater. From blogs and the New England Mountain Bike Association there appears to be some trails that are not well maintained. There are about 5 miles of trails. Find out more information HERE. There is a dirt parking area at the end of Spring Street in West Bridgewater. I believe you can enter West Meadows Access Road into your GPS to get there. Note: During hunting season this area is used for hunting. My family has not yet visited the West Bridgewater State Forest/West Meadows Pond. We have plans to visit the area soon and will update this listing to include information about they type of trail and how accessible it is. If you check this conservation area out Macaroni Kid Bridgewater-Brockton would love to find out what you thought. Share your trip on social media using the #MKBwaterBrock.
