A Little Princess - Contest Winner!

By Sponsored Article Content July 18, 2017

Congratulations to Colleen...our winner of the Family 4-Pack of tickets to see A Little Princess at the Fuller Craft Museum! We hope you enjoy this fantastic show!

A Little Princess is a unique outdoor theatrical event that combines song, dance, and puppetry to tell the story of Sara Crewe, a wealthy, young heiress who, suddenly forced to live as a scullery maid in the school she once attended, finds solace in her own ability to weave stories. The whole family will enjoy witnessing Sara’s adventures as she learns to appreciate the magic that can be found in the way we treat those around us.

You can still get your tickets to the show too, they are available through Eventbrite for all 4 performances HERE. The shows are scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 21-23 at 7PM, as well as a special sensory-friendly performance on Saturday, July 22nd at 2 PM. Tickets are between $5 and $10!

Artists from Suburbia was founded in 2015 as a new community-based theatre initiative with four major goals:
1. Allow community members from diverse backgrounds to participate in innovative, new theatrical works in which their unique voices and perspectives will be heard, respected, and valued.
2. Support and incorporate works and talents of established artistic professionals, semiprofessionals, and highly trained individuals alongside and amongst less-experienced members of their community, creating a system of mutual growth, empathy, and education.
3. Produce works inclusive of artists and audiences from marginalized communities.
4. Provide works outside of the traditional community theatre canon to local audiences for free or at a low cost.

We allow the above guidelines to dictate every aspect of our process, including selection of works, rehearsal, and performance spaces, as well as scheduling, casting, and publicity. We present productions that incorporate new voices and varying performance methods, including
multi-media techniques, puppetry, and stylized movement.

This event is part of Artists From Suburbia's Suburban Summer Theatre Surge, made possible by funding from the Brockton Cultural Council, Raynham Cultural Council, and Bridgewater Cultural Council - programs funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
