Have a birthday party with the Brockton Rox!

Do you have a little baseball fan in your life? If so, you need to check out the Brocton Rox. The Rox are a part of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League of New England. Their home is Campanelli Stadium in Brockton, right next to the high school. The stadium is like a little Fenway, it is quite a bit smaller and a whole lot cheaper! With only $6 game tickets, $5 parking and reasonably priced food, this is a fantastic and affordable way to spend time with the kids! So far, so good? Read on!

My family and I have attended a few games but the best by far was Monday, July 10th. We had a “Bullpen Birthday” for my son Colton’s 6th birthday. If your child loves baseball then this is definitely a birthday party for you to consider!

We arrived an hour before the game started and our group of 20 was escorted to the bull pen. When we arrived there were 5 players warming up and they all stopped to come over and greet us and say happy birthday to Colton. They even let him practice! Since he was going to throw out the ceremonial first pitch (part of the package!) he needed to warm up too. Once he was good and loose, he and his friends watched the rest of the team warm up from the field. He could not stop smiling, which of course made everyone else smile.

After hanging out in the bull pen for a half hour, we moved to the tent right next to it for Cape Cod Café pizza, chips and drinks. Then it was time for his big moment and what he had been most looking forward to. Throwing the ceremonial first pitch! Once he got on the mound and heard his name permeate through the stadium speakers, he lobbed the ball toward home plate, it was a little high but he got it all the way to the plate It was perfect, I thought he couldn’t be happier….then the captain gave him the ball to keep!

We thought after the pitch that we were going to sit and watch the game but they had more in store for Colton! After the 1st inning Colton got to race the Rox mascot, KO, around the bases! He had a blast and one of the players even tackled KO to make sure the birthday boy won!

His final appearance on the field was with KO to have everyone sing happy birthday! For the first time he got a little nervous with everyone singing to him. Until the umpire gave him a game ball he wasn’t sure what to do! The entire team passed that ball around the dugout to sign it for him too. He was thrilled.

This party was a blast! My son felt like a celebrity and I didn’t have to do a thing! The staff was attentive and kept me informed about each appearance and the overall flow of the night. Colton already asked if he could have his 7th birthday with the Rox!
