The APCSM Animal of the Week

By Rachel Ives - Publisher, Macaroni Kid Bridgewater-Brockton July 7, 2017

Three years ago, we rescued a dog that had been transported to Massachusetts from Alabama. We didn’t know anything about her past other than she was approximately a year old and that she was found abandoned on the side of the road. I was hesitant at first about rescuing. With 2 small kids (my children were 2 and 4 at the time), I was worried about the dog’s temperament and whether or not she would be aggressive, or dislike people for what they had done to her before she was found. Well, my worries were put to rest as soon as we met her. She was, and still is, gentle, playful, obedient and affectionate. If you are considering a family pet, I cannot recommend adoption highly enough. To read more about adopting you can check out my other article HERE.

I believe so much in “adopt don’t shop” for a family pet, that I am joining forces with the Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts, right here in Brockton, to help their animals get adopted! I not only want families to adopt wonderful pets but I want these pets to get wonderful families…and what better families than our MACARONI FAMILIES?

Each week, the APCSM highlights an animal up for adoption. This week it is Fival the cat! Check out Fival’s info below and if you have been looking for a family cat, contact the APSCM for more information about adopting him! You can also get more information about FIV+ cats from the APCSM Blog.

If your family adopts a pet from the APCSM, Macaroni Kid Bridgewater-Brockon would love to hear about it! Please email a photo to your publisher at rachelives@macaronikid.com so we can feature it in a future article!
