Five Awesome Local Playgrounds

By Rachel Ives March 1, 2017

Last week’s warm weather inspired me to check out some of the local playgrounds. I can’t wait to share my full Playground Guide at a later date but for now here is a bit of a teaser to fill the warm days until the 2017 Playground Guide is released.

5. Reed’s Corner Kiddie Playground – Middleboro

  • Located at 26 Jackson St in Middleboro, this playground is part of the larger Peirce Park which includes baseball fields, basketball hoops, a football field, tennis courts, softball fields and the town swimming pool.

4. Edwin A. Keach Park – Easton

  • Set back from the street, this park is located on Chestnut St in North Easton. The park is partially enclosed and contains multiple play structures for younger children. There is a nice seating area and baseball/softball fields on the property as well.

3. James Edgar Playground – Brockton

  • This park, located on Dover St in Brockton has a nice playground, fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, a splash pad and a skate park. There is plenty to do here and benches for parents to relax while the kids play.

2. Assawompset Playground – Lakeville

  • Located at the Assawompset Elementary School in Lakeville, this park has multiple play structures for children of all ages. It is fenced in and has plenty of benches and shaded picnic tables.

1. Marathon Park – Bridgewater.

  • Located on Crescent St in Bridgewater, Marathon Park is the best park we found in our community. This park has almost everything! Ample parking, one entrance, shaded picnic tables and it is fenced in! There is a stroller-friendly walking path along the perimeter, a large sandbox, multiple play structures and a musical area. The only thing this park is lacking is a bathroom.

What do you think about our list? I would love to get your feedback.
